SENSEI MARCIE HINTZ
Sensei
Marcie
Hintz wanted to do something fun and different with her son Hank
Kamanakai, and Sensei Clark and
martial arts opened the door to a new way of living!
With the rank of Sandan (3rd degree), Sensei
Hintz
enrolled in 1995, and continues her training in mixed Martial Arts and Okinawan
Weaponry with Senseis' Jeff Clark, Tim O'Keefe, Eric Mora, and Hank Hintz.
An IKO
Karate Fitness Instructor since 1997, Sensei Hintz finds great satisfaction
incorporating martial arts techniques into a cardio-fitness program that
exercises the body, mind and spirit. "It's great to push your mind and body;
getting muscles exercised from head to toe, but our spirit needs exercise too.
In a time where we live our lives so exposed to external elements (TV, internet,
24 hour news, technology, etc.) its easy to be consumed by information overload.
However during class, what we learn from ourselves
by looking within is more worthy than anything we could tune into
- and that's the best exercise for the body, mind and spirit!", comments
Sensei Hintz.
Sensei Hintz offers private lessons and
also volunteers her time as IKO's
Website Administrator. A former National and World Champion, she
participated in local as well as national karate tournaments and competed
in Kata (forms), Kobudo (weapons) and Kumite (sparring).
A member of the IKO Yuudansha Board,
Sensei Hintz loves her IKO family, cross-training in Mixed Martial arts and Okinawan weaponry, and teaching
Karate-Cardio
Karate
Fitness classes. |
